Great food...great service....wonderful atmosphere. The BEST banana cream pie ever. Will constantly go back.

My wife and I shared the duck ragout and scallops over risotto. Bread pudding and coconut cake for desert. All made from scratch daily. Will definitely we back.

My husband and I just left Kitchen and we had a terrible meal. We wanted to like it because the hostess (long blonde hair) was so sweet. She accommodated us when we wanted to move indoors to prevent bug bites and treated us kindly. The food however, is a different story and that's why I'm giving it 1 star. So no more people waste their money and night out on this restaurant like we did. We ordered the "lasagna" appetizer. It was grilled portobello and eggplant as the "pasta" filled with ricotta cheese and topped with arugula and a Parmesan cheese tuille. The vegetables were overcharred and sauce tasted burnt. Very small portion - not worth $10. We both ordered the burger because it sounded delicious! Who wouldn't a burger topped with foie gras and made with grass-fed beef? When it arrived in front of us, mine was cooked well (as chef intended- medium rare) and my husbands was completely raw. (He ordered medium rare as well). He sent his back and they threw the SAME burger back on the grill and brought it back. This is unacceptable! The burger was obviously overcooked now and had that reheated taste. Not to mention, this burger doesn't come with foie gras on top. It is, according to the waitress, mixed into the burger. So it's basically like it wasn't even there. Fries were decent. My husband didn't even eat his. The couple at the table next to us sent one of their dishes back 3 times. Don't make the same mistake we did! Skip this place until the kitchen gets their act together.

For the hype and the buzz, this place let me down. The food was poorly cooked (the rarest burger I've ever had served to me), the drinks uninspiring (no cocktails, and the restaurant ambiance not ready for diners (no dessert menus, weird overflow extension called "lounge" without a full bar--just wine and 5 or so bottled beers). Two recommendations: 1) request outdoor seating on open table and when they call to confirm reservation and 2) only come for dessert (order blueberry Apple crisp, you won't be disappointed) Albeit disappointed in food, drinks, and restaurant ambiance (a bit pretentious for my liking) our waitress Jody was well versed on the menu, but was eager to get us the bill to make way for the next reservations coming in. Don't waste your time -- head to Buccan.

Aliza and Matthew have an amazing restaurant. Intimate, friendly and great food! We had the tuna tartare, eggplant lasagna (will remember that for a long time- so good), tomatoes and burrata for starters. Then we got the cobia and scallop specials. The coconut cake was huge and delicious. We sampled the chocolate pie, cobbler and strawberry shortcake. The restaurant was full and we left so happy with food, service and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and share the experience with my husband. Kitchen was a great girls night dinner out.

Yes, it's small, difficult to get in and pricey. It's also delicious. The burrata was outstanding- the tomatoes and arugula were wonderfully fresh and the arugula had a nice bite. The spinalis and pork chop were also delicious and cooked to the desired temps. The brussels sprouts that come w/the chop are the best I've ever had, I could eat 10 helpings. As for the wine, we went for the recommended CA Pinot Noir for 56.00 but you can take your own bottle and pay a 30.00 corkage fee, which we'll do next time.
Hits and misses. Beet salad and Bronzino were 5-star. Buratta salad was light on buratta, and the schnitzel needs aioli for balance and the egg, so trendy in today's fare, was not an exciting addition.Dessert was outstanding in all respects, loved the chocolate pudding pie and creme brulee. Service was impeccable but the server blushed and was genuinely uncomfortable when I asked for a refill on coffee and she informed me it would be another charge as each cup is pressed to order. OK, I've had fancy "french press" coffee to order, and it's great but the restaurant brings you the press, and you generally get 12-15oz. of coffee out of it. Kitchen serves you a very small cup; I'd estimate 4oz at most and $3.50! Guys: rethink the coffee service/portion. I drop $150/couple; you don't want to end the meal on our sour note. This restaurant is truly excellent. Their wine list is very comprehensive, and service is top notch. The portions are on point, and everything is seasoned and delicious. My only critique is that the prices are a bit high for a flamingo park eatery and for what you get. Comparable to Palm beach island's Buccan. But, if money ain't a thang, then definitely check out this place. You won't be disappointed.

So happy to have this gem of a restaurant just minutes away! Fantastic service and the food is just incredible! Had a fish special..sea bass with cauliflower and butternut squash as sides, everything was delicious! The atmosphere is upscale casual and lighting is cozy and romantic. I felt the menu and wine list had a lot to offer. Will be coming back many a time.

This is such a gem of a restaurant! It's intimate, trendy without being obnoxious about it, perfect for foodies while still remaining unpretentious. Started with a bottle of Sancerre which was chilled to perfection. For the first course, I had the Burrata salad and my date had the beet salad. Ripe Heirloom tomatoes, peppery arugula, and creamy Burrata were paired perfectly (especially with the Sancerre!). My date's cold beet salad was stacked in thick slices and sandwiched with unctuous blue cheese, walnut oil, and microgreens. Absolutely delish! Kitchen had two fish specials last night; a cobia and a Peruvian sea bass. We ordered both of them and were absolutely thrilled with our decision. The cobia was grilled and had a slight char to it that was so savory! Fresh lemon accompanied it but honestly it didn't need a thing. The sea bass was pan seared with roasted cherry tomatoes, capers, and served with what seemed like a lighter beurre blanc sauce. Yumyumyumyum... Sides were butternut squash with goat cheese and truffle oil (the best!!!), cauliflower (fresh dill and roasted), roasted brussel sprouts and cherry tomatoes (really roasted to bring out all that earthy flavor), and the parsley French fries (not at all oily). Dessert: do NOT miss the coconut cake. I'm telling you, even if you're full to the point of bursting, get the cake. You will thank me. My date hates coconut but indulged my selection, because he's an intelligent man :) Can I tell you he ate more of that cake than I did?? He was raving about it long after dinner was over. Kitchen is not to be missed. Make your reservations ahead of time, especially now that season is coming.

Had dinner last night from the moment we entered the small intimate room we were welcomed & knew they were going to do everything to make our dining experience extra special. My husband had the breast of duck which he loved. My simple chicken was perfectly cooked but a bit too salty. The apple & blueberry crumble was too yummy to discuss. Will definitely return.

Intimate restaurant/ great atmosphere. Service was perfect, the right amount of attention while not interfering w/ the meal. I had the tuna tartare to start followed by the seafood Bouliabase. Dessert - Apple crisp and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 10 out of 10

Cute little place tucked away into a strip mall in West Palm. Nice wine list, best upscale burger I've had in years, great dessert. Lots of interesting menu choices. Outdoor seating too, which I recommend as inside is noisy with the usual south Florida sounds of ex-New Yorkers (such as myself).

Before I get to the food, we made Open Table reservation, arrive and find outcome, by our mistake, made it for place of same name in " Boston" !! Well, they were crowded but found us a table.Well done. By the way Our dinners were wonderful. Only neg on this place is the location with a small parking lot.
Really wanted to love it. It's not going to happen. The best thing about this dinner was dessert. The apple cobbler was outstanding. That's the good news. Now the bad news, in a nutshell: Dark restaurants make me nervous. Why's it so dark in there? What are you hiding? It was difficult to read the menu. The tables are crammed together. I don't want to hear the two conversations going on to my left and right. I could have held that girl's hand at the table to my right. She was that close. Our handbags were touching. I really don't want my posterior knocking over the salt shaker every time I get up to go to the ladies' room. How does a restaurant of such notoriety run out of Filet of Beef before 8:00PM on a Saturday night? I never heard of (and did not enjoy) a house salad overloaded with such large slices of celery. That was no ordinary celery! It was more like the health salad you get at a better Jewish Deli than a dinner salad. There was an "off" taste in every bite that I couldn't discern. Had the lighting been a little better, it wouldn't have taken me so long to realize the culprit was KALE. Who puts kale in a house salad? Awful. I wish I had ordered something else. The chicken schnitzel. Great in theory. The schnitzel itself was perfect, but that was way, way, way too much arugula. That much arugula is never necessary. Maybe Tiger and his wife were big on vegetarian, but most of us are not. The ratio of arugula to chicken was inexplicable to me. Certainly not palatable to me. In and of itself, the arugula was flavorless. It ruined what might have been an otherwise memorable dish. Now it's unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. There is no bar. Wherever kitchen pb is proposing a Wine Bar is of little solace. They already have an impressive wine list. If you want a decent martini or a nice brandy after dinner, you're out of luck.

Donna C. Wildwood, Il After checking into Hotel Biba across the street from The Kitchen and having been up since 3:00 AM travelling I was happy to see someplace I could walk to for a nice relaxing dinner. It was early so I was able to get a table right away. The service started out wonderful but unfortunately once the place starting filling in being a lone diner I was more attended to by the busboy. I had a wonderful filet w/gorgonzola that was served over a bed of garlic spinach and onion rings. The filet was cooked to perfection and the garlic spinach was wonderful. The only thing I would criticize would be the onion rings as I thought the delicate piece of filet would have been better sided with a seasonal risotto or similar. I did force myself to order the coconut cake which was awesome, but be sure that you have someone to share this with as it was a huge piece. I would highly recommend Kitchen for a nice treat (as it is $$$)and to people/table watch as it was very entertaining! I will go back if ever in the area again.
Kitchen is an overhyped, overpriced, mediocre restaurant that left my husband with a nasty case of food poisoning. Kitchen has several bright spots, notably the service, which is impeccable, the ahi and mango dish, which was yummy and the veggie sides, which are yummy too. The remainder of our meal was not so much bad as bland. My hubbie got the osso bucco and I got the cobia. Everything needed a little more in the way of salt and pepper and flavor. I squeezed both lemons over my fish just to make it edible. Coconut cake was way too sweet. If I am going to spend over $100 on a meal, that meal should be worth the money and I don't think it was in this instance. There was nothing particularly spectacular about the food even at its high points. I will not be returning especially given the fact that my husband became ill shortly after.

I was disappointed to learn that Vagabondi has shut it's doors, some time ago...Was a great tiny little place, and I was really hoping a new hero will step in and take over this tiny little property to deliver wonderful food....dreams come true...this is more then I expected... I have paid multiple visits to kitchen, and I am more and more in love with everything about the place. Inside, there are no more then 30 seats, And may be 14 outside, so i would really suggest calling for reservations since the place is always packed. The age group of the crowd is always mixed, yet very sophisticated. I am a big fan of that. My favorite burger joints have something to fear with these guys...a beautiful bled with top notch ingredients. Chefs schnitzel is everyone's favorite! Nice and moist, with beautiful salad and a fried egg on top. Fish if the day is forever changing, and economies with 2 sides and grilled lemon. I was lucky enough to have the red drum...it was absolutely perfect. Not boring, yet no underseasoned, pure perfection. Try to smoked salmon potatoe pancake....it's brilliant. There is a small private room with In the size of the restaurant with a chef's table. The staff is very polite and educated on every item on the menu, down to every ingredient that goes into a dish Overall, I have to give then 5 stars! I wish we had more such restaurants in town.

Went this past Friday for anniversary dinner with my wife. The very short summary was that the food was outstanding, the owners chef(husband) and hostess(wife) are very talented and enthusiastic. My expectations were exceeded by the food and we will definitely be back to try more things on the menu. Service by our waitress was underwhelming and a bit too casual and aloof. The waitress wanted to be more of an order taker. This place needs servers that get to know the patrons, assist with selections and educate on the great things about the menu/food/wine. When I asked for help on ordering I got the dreaded "everything is great". (It's entirely possible that the server we got was not representative of typical service levels, all Other staff we interacted with were engaged and genuinely helpful). The owner/wife came by to check on us and saved the day with her recommendations and genuine enthusiasm. The dining room is small and the tables are close together so there isn't a lot of privacy for a romantic dinner. We had the reimagined eggs, bacon, toast as an appetizer. Awesome. For entrees we had the seafood pasta (excellent) and the schnitzel (excellent). We also get an extra side veggie of the Brussel sprouts which were great.

I am conflicted about writing this review. On the one hand the chef and staff deserve to be recognized for the excellent food and service. On the other hand I might not be able to get back in. We were lucky enough to enjoy Kitchen only because a friend gave us her reservation. It's an incredibly small but completely polished restaurant and it reminded me of the tiny but fabulous hip spots in NYC. I won't go into too much detail but suffice it to say that the wine, appetizers, main courses and deserts were all excellent. All four of us enjoyed everything we ordered as well as everything everyone else ordered. It's a pricey place but it was worth every penny. You know what they say - you get what you pay for. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit to Kitchen.

Went last night, won't go back. Everything was "fine". Here's the problem....they are totally unaccommodating, and the cost is basically $100/person. Too many other places to try in the area. Examples: I'll put the last one first, because it was the clincher as to our decision:check was on the table, sipping coffee, asked for a little refill of one of the coffees, and the server actually took back the ($400) check to charge for another coffee, seriously?? Early on we asked for bread when ordering the wine, hostess said they don't give bread "yet"...really? We ordered a salad to split as an appetizer, kitchen didn't split it, and server gave us a tiny bread plate to split ourselves, really? One of the orders came out wrong, sweet potato was on the plate, was ordered without it, server said sorry, but it stayed on the plate. OK Kitchen, do it your way, but you won't see us again.

The best food, service & total restaurant experience in the area!!!! The vision of the chef & owners are fulfilled at all levels. We enjoyed every aspect of the menu & ambience. And while it's explained as "pricey," it's not....particularly when factoring in the fresh and unique qualities of the food. I'll add the service is as perfectly refreshing as part the entire visit. We'll go back and try EVERYTHING ON THE MENU!

Have eaten at Kitchen 3 times in the last 60 days! Everything about the restaurant is delicious, inviting and lovely. The fish, cooked perfectly. The pork chops, and burger were delicious. Be certain to try the buttery BR Cohn Chardonnay . Also, save room for chef Matthew's lemon cocoanut cake. Truly sensational. Aliza makes you feel at home and always welcomes you back. Both Laura and Lauren are wonderful servers. Can t waIt to return again!

Is this place real? These guys have Perfected the art of upscale casual. Came here my second night in WPB desperate for some real food after driving in a moving van with two parrots for three days. It was beyond difficult to find anything edible on the road and I think I was starting to shut down. Not knowing exactly what to expect, we kind of just showed up on a Monday evening right around dinnertime looking like we had spent the day unpacking. The place was busy and getting busier! We had to park across the street at the oil change place. Hubby poked me cause I had told him not to bother with reservations. They were indeed booked, I was about to cry looking at all the happy looking patrons on the delightful patio and about to kick myself for not making a reservation when to my delight, they offered to seat us in their lounge area. It was similar to bar seating, but there isn't a true bartender, so we were still able to have a dining experience. I'm surely grateful they have this area because otherwise we would have missed out on trying this gem while my company was still in from Philly. We were greeted by the chef/owner's wife, who turns out is a Philly girl too! I had a glass of red, hubby had an Amstel, Fritz didn't have a Bloody Mary (beer and wine only). We had some starters, delish! I was in the mood for steak, so I ordered the NYStrip. Hubby got a Super Amazing! grass fed burger with fois gras and all kinds of yummy stuff on it that I'm definitely getting next time no matter what. Fritz had the fish. Everything we had for our meal was as fresh as can be, perfectly prepared, and it tasted that way. I appreciated the cauliflower and brussels sprouts. 'Tis the season! ...And about the FRENCH FRIES....hmmmm...the fries. Words do no justice. All I can say is go there and have them. Until you do, you won't know. I almost missed out because I avoid fries like the plague, they were never my thing anyway, but something told me this would be worth the calories. I planned on having one, ended up having a few, can imagine myself getting old and fat and happy sitting in a pile of these delightful, light, crispy....but not THAT happy, so back to Earth. On Earth, it's time for desert, so we got 2! We're celebrating not being a part of the snow where we came from, so why not have some flourless chocolate cake and famous house specialty coconut cake. Vino, carne, pom frittes, why not add white flour and sugar rrrrush to your list? Again, something told me this would be worth the calories. The stars were aligned, the time was right, we were in the mood, and we didn't regret a thing. Came back for more for lunch the next day, but they are only open for dinner! This will not be a one night stand, but next time, we WILL be making reservations!

Not great just ok cramped, no booze just expensive wine. Service excellentl, food ordinary, had to ask for bread since meals and salads real skimpy. Dessert good, coffee skimpy with not asked if would like more. Would not go out of my way for just ok at. Hundred and half $.

Here in Palm Beach, the typical conversation revolves around where one ate the previous night and if there are any new restaurant openings. This season absolutely everyone is talking about "Kitchen", the newest addition to the Palm Beach dining circuit. This a contemporary American Brasserie recently opened in West Palm Beach. It is just about the smallest restaurant I have ever been to but don't let the size fool you; this place is big on service, warmth, friendliness and innovation. The food is off the charts spectacular. The menu changes often and is very eclectic and if you're a "foodie", you will be in seventh heaven. Checkout their website for their menu. We were taken by friends who had been there previously. We were a party of four and each of us was delighted with our choice of entree. Desserts were also exceptional. I could go on and on but you will just have to try this place yourself. Be advised though that because "Kitchen" has limited seating, you will probably want to make your reservations in advance. Well worth the effort. Go.

Pleasantly surprised by this intimate restaurant with excellent and knowledgeable wait staff, exciting menu with very fresh ingredients. Recommend the duck and the ahi tuna. Desert to die for. We have eaten at top restaurants in every major city and this young couple are on to something great. My new favorite eatery.

Just finished a meal at Kitchen and had a really great time. Even though it was raining on and off, we were still able to enjoy dining outside. Also noticed three dogs joined some of the other guests which I thought was nice. A little barking here and there but nothing too bad. Chef and owner Matthew Byrne and his wife along with a small but attentive staff started us off with a simple taste of onion jam and goat cheese on top of crostini to help us select what we wanted for dinner. There is only beer and wine here and the selection is more than adequate as well as offering a $30 corkage fee for those that want to bring something special from home. We chose a moderately priced Pinot and shared the ahi tuna with mango and micro greens and the beet and creamed blue cheese salad. The Beets were very flavorful and the blue cheese was not overpowering. Blue cheese can have a strong flavor but it was matched evenly with the beets. The Ahi Tuna and mango was great. The ahi was seasoned separately and creamed with avocado. The mango was a perfect compliment mixing the sweetness with the savory and all the texture was complimented with the crunch of the micro greens. For the main course my wife got the seared Scallops over Parmesan risotto. The brinyness of the perfectly cooked scallops was great against the creamy risotto. I wanted more of this but resisted. I got the double wide pork chop that tender and juicy. Many times this cut can be overcooked and dry but this was juicy. The chop was topped with an apple chutney that had a mix of garlic and onion that cut the sweetness that an apple chutney can bring. It was served with a goat cheese laced chive smashed potato mix that was great. We also got two sides of dill roasted cauliflower and roasted Brussels sprouts and grape tomatoes. Both excellent and great compliments to the meal. To finish, we got the apple and blueberry cobbler topped with ice cream and lightly drizzled with caramel. I'm not the sweet tooth like my wife is. So my two or three spoonfuls was enough for me. But the dish was licked clean at the end. Both my wife and I were questioning the small dish and spoon of kosher salt and bottle of Crystal hot sauce. When Chef Matthew came out we asked him about it. He said the salt is there in case anyone wants to add a bit. We thought none of the dishes needed anything. The hot sauce is two fold. Chef Matthew cut his teeth at a Greek place in the Philly area where the owner chef there always had it on the table for people to spice things up. He wanted to have that for his tables paying homage to this man as well as adding a nice splash of red color to the table. This was certainly a great meal and a great addition to what I hear is a great food scene in West Palm. Good luck Chef.

Love this place! From the reviews, I had a feeling it was going to be special, and it certainly was. Really good food and great service. It was a Thursday night dinner with a great friend. I had told her it was a surprise. Kitchen did not disappoint in any way. The food was all excellently prepared and presented. I am definitely returning and will recommend to my other friends.

Really liked this place. It is small and dimly lit (its a great date place). Decor is modern and very cool. The owner stopped by and chatted for a while, servers were all great. Food was great. I had seafood pasta. chock full of seafood and just the right amount of garlic (can there be too much? I think not). K had the burger and it was spectacular! We ended with a shared coconut cake Moist, nice flavor, plenty of coconut.

We enjoyed a nice meal here this week. The salads are wonderful. Abundant, fresh and delicious. The entree choices are less intriguing than appetizers and side dishes. I had the scallops with risotto. I had to send them back because they tasted like the Atlantic Ocean but they were extremely accommodating with providing me a new meal. I ended up having the fish of the day blackened fish with the butternut squash and cauliflower sides. The sides were over the top delicious. The fish was a bit charred but I didn't want to be that person who complained twice. It was edible and very good quality. My dinner mates had the chicken schnitzel which was delicious and the pork chop which was delicious. I could literally eat appetizers and sides here and call it a night. They were the most inventive parts of the menu. I would go definitely go back and try a different entree. It's a cute spot. Also, the menu regularly changes which is a really nice way to keep things fresh. My only complaint, no bread before dinner or with our appetizers. They did give us a piece of toast with a tapenade topping. It was exceptional.

Didn't realize that Vagabondi had closed. Went to the location and found Kitchen instead. The place is small and pleasant, so not much changes were made. The owner is the chef and the wife was the maitre d. The service staff needs training but were pleasant. The menu didnt seem to be much different than Vagabondi. I had the duck ragu. the pasta was cooked beautifully but the duck ragu was a bit disappointing. It didnt have the soft rich flavor I was expecting from slow cooked duck. My friend had the burger. I had a bite and it was excellent. the hint of truffle oil was nice.
I heard good things about this restaurant, due to my frustration it is only getting 2 star from me. I order one of Chef's favorite; Chicken Schnitzel. It was dry, rubbery, under seasoned. Nothing special about it. Portions was relatively large but this place's main target not the ones looking for quantity, "diner" lover customers. Hopefully it was just a bad night for them. I will try to revisit again.

I thought this place was great. My whole evening was really fabulous. The exterior is charming with the same plastic rattan chairs you would find in a lovely Bistro in the Marais or the Left Bank. Cozy intimate setting with white linen tablecloths & votive candles. I was a solo diner which can be horrible with regard to overall experience but good restaurants recognize that should never be a bad thing. The service was a bit slow at first & it appears they need to work on consistency but after an initial 15 mins waiting for a Server, it was very good. I started with a glass of the Willamette Chardonnay which nice but was later eclipsed by a lovely La Folette Chardonnay. $13/glass each. I ordered the Tuna Ahi timbale with Mango & Avocado. It was fresh, flavorful & wonderfully presented. There was an Amuse Bouche of eggplant, white bean purée on bruschetta. It was tasty & perfect accompaniment to my wine. I finally decided to try the Sea Bass which was in a lovely white wine, butter, evoo with fresh cherry tomatoes, flat leaf parsley & capers. Light, buttery but delicate with a savory bite from the tomatoes & caper. Mash potatoes & sautéed spinach was fine. The spinach unfortunately had a bitter taste. The mashed potatoes were buttery & very light. I indulged in the Coconut cake which was a very large 3 tiered serving of light, coconut sweetness. I really enjoyed my dining experience & would definitely recommend anyone to this little gem of a Bistro, ristorante.

Worst experience ever. Terribly rude. Don't go here unless you want to be treated badly.

PARTIAL REVIEW Opening Remarks: -Kitchen was opened mid 2013 by Chef Matthew Byrne and his wife. -Unlike most of the popular staples in Palm Beach, I hadn't heard anything about it (assumedly because it's so new), until I got chatting a store clerk on the Worth Avenue strip who told me to check it out. Now, unlike Toronto, the Palm Beach demographic is probably not so blogging-yelp-urbanspoon savvy, so it didn't surprise me I had overlooked it in my online research. What did surprise me was how booked up they were when I went to make a reservation! Word to the wise, folks, plan ahead if you want to get in! Ambiance: -Kitchen is located in the middle of a random West Palm Beach strip mall making its reputation as a "neighbourhood gem" make sense. -Upon walking into the space and counting a whole 10 tables inside (and a handful more on their front patio), I started to see why opentable showed so little availability. Even their Monday night was fully seated. -The décor is understated and clean. White table clothes are topped by white paper sheets, upon which a single tea candle illuminates the space. The similarly white walls are adorned with a few pieces of framed artwork and a long mirror lining one of the walls. The focal point of the room, however, is the black chalkboard wall decorated with an arrangement of simple white dinner plates and iconic quotes about food. I know them all, of course, but my favourite is Julie Child's, "People who love to eat are always the best people." Service: -We were promptly seated by a beautiful young woman, who introduced herself as co-owner and chef Byrne's wife. Almost immediately, our water glasses were filled and our server popped by to brief us on the menu. -Our bright and cheerful server reminded me of a Food Network chef in her over the top passionate description of every dish. Imagine Anne Burrell after she's tucked into a crazy delicious lemon tart (but with much nicer hair.) You can tell these folk have been trained well on how to sell the plates. -Not only was she a good sales lady, and but she also made solid recommendations on wine, ensured our water (and wine) glasses were never empty, and between her and the busser, immediately cleared our plates between courses. -Often at these small spots, I get nervous that the kitchen may be so small that our meal will take a lifetime, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Courses came out at a very comfortable pace and we were in and out in about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Drink: -Without any room for a proper bar, Kitchen's offerings are wine and beer only- no cocktails for this gal. They offer 3 stand-by beers by the bottle ($5-6), and over 40 wines the bottle ($35-220), a quarter of which are available by the glass ($10-15). From my casual looksy at the list, I saw a nice range of International offerings, with a heavy focus on California wines. -We both ended up going for whites - for him a buttery La Follette North Coast Chardonnay ($15) and me an easy drinking Lageder Riff Pinot Grigio from Italy ($10). No complaints here. Food: -Chef Byrne's menu can be considered contemporary American with a strong focus on high quality local and seasonal ingredients. -From reading the menu top to bottom, I noticed a bit of a divide in theme between the appetizers and main courses. The apps read as very light, fresh, International and veggie-centric, while mains were far more hearty, comforting and familiar. -For such a small restaurant with assumedly a limited number of covers per night, I was surprised to see so many different proteins played out- they pretty much covered all the main stream centerpieces without dipping into offal or game. That's a good thing for variety (especially if you want to visit often), and hopefully not a bad thing for quality (though for the record it all tasted fresh to us). White Bean, Roasted Eggplant, Red Pepper and Chevre Bruschetta (Amuse) The bruschetta was simple but fresh and inviting. A very tasty first bite. Asparagus, Prosciutto, Chevre, Poached Egg ($13) Not surprisingly, the combination of the salty prosciutto with the tangy chevre, fatty egg yolk and the crunchy crostini was divine. My only criticism would be that the portion was underwhelming and the egg was a touch overcooked. I was looking forward to a oozing explosion but only the very core was still uncooked. Ahi, Mango & Avocado, Spicy Soy Dressing ($17) This was probably the best savoury dish of the night. The fatty tuna with the creamy avocado and the sweet ripe mango really came together in that spicy umami rich dressing. What could have made this even better would maybe have been some crispy chips to eat it with, but otherwise a solid dish. Grilled Veggie & Ricotta Stack, Tomato Ragout ($12) This was probably the most disappointing dish of the night. It tasted like diet food, and as the message on the blackboard beside me read, "The only time to eat diet food is when you're waiting for the steak to cook" (

Beatiful restaurant, great service, but the food could be better.

Where to begin...where to begin...this place blew not only me, but the rest of my party away! So good! I had read from previous reviewers to make a reservation ahead of time due to how hard it is to get in. We got an 8:30 reservation for Friday night. Looking back now, it IS summer and Season is pretty much done (hooray - less traffic!), so we could've walked in with no hassle. There were a few empty tables OR maybe it was just a slow Friday night OR maybe we just ate really late..Who knows.. We arrived a bit earlier, and got seated down immediately. I suggest sitting outside on not so hot nights, great atmosphere, plus it's a bit more spacey and open than the interior. The inside is quite small, but looked nice and intimate..plus it was a bit too cold for our taste. This place is located in a plaza, so parking is kind of limited. We parked in the plaza next door..not sure if they are related..but I didn't get towed. Onward to the best part... FOOD (my stomach is growling): Main Dishes - + Pan Roasted 2x Cut Porkchop, Chevre Whipped potatoes, Apple-ginger Jam: the STAR of the our dinner. Everyone couldn't believe how tender and juicy the pork was. YUM. The apple-ginger jam paired perfectly with it, plus the potatoes were super creamy & had hints of blue or goat cheese in it. I would HIGHLY recommend ordering this!! + Simple Grilled Fish, Charred Lemon, Olive Oil, Parsely: Cooked well, definitely all about the fresh fish taste if you really enjoy that. Plain, yet delicious. It wasn't flavored heavily, and you could taste the nice grilled flavors. Comes with 2 filets. + Charred Filet of Beef, Garlic Spinach, Maytag blue, Cripsy Onion rings: Cooked well & yummy...the filet looked thick. I didn't get a bite of this dish, so I don't have much to say, but the person in our group loved it! Cleaned the whole plate. Sides - + Dill Roasted Cauliflower: yummy, tender and flavorful. + Sautéed Parmesan Broccolini: crispy, with a delicious flavor of parmesan. + Roasted Brussels & Grape Tomatoes: mmmhmmm, anything roasted in my book, is A-OK. + Butternut Squash with Truffle Oil, Goat Cheese: ORDER THIS. We all wanted more of this delicious side, as one guy claimed "one of my top 3 things I've ever eaten in my life." There was absolutely nothing about our dinner we hated. It was a great success and I'm really glad that we came here. The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the waiters, even when the chef came out and asked how our dinner was.. all lovely! The portions were perfect, we expected small portions for the prices and type of restaurant, BUT we were pleasantly surprised when the dishes came out. I cannot wait to come back for more!! :)

(5)David W.

Best food and preperation we have experienced in West Palm! A must go if you are in the area!

My wife and I went and the food was prepared well. It was fresh and not over the top. Expected a fine meal and got one.

We popped in and were lucky enough to get a table.... WOW! Tuna app was amazing but Dear Lord that was the best burger EVER! We will be back over and over again!

(5)Dave G.
Not great just ok cramped, no booze just expensive wine. Service excellentl, food ordinary, had to ask for bread since meals and salads real skimpy. Dessert good, coffee skimpy with not asked if would like more. Would not go out of my way for just ok at. Hundred and half $.
(3)Jill C.
Great restaurant! The steak with the Bleu cheese was amazing! Good service. Small and definitely need a reservation.

Go.
(5)Dayle B.

Finally made it here and so happy that we did. Wonderful food, service and ambience... and nice to be away from the "scene" on the island.

Kitchen is a small, cozy restaurant that just opened a few weeks ago and they've already gotten it right, which is impressive. My group had a delicious Prosecco to start. Amazing appetizers - the eggplant "lasagna" was unique and delicious, and the asparagus with prosciutto and poached egg was heavenly. The chef's signature schnitzel was unlike any I'd had before and was perfectly cooked. The filet with tomato-blue cheese salad was mouth-watering and tender. The scallops with creamy bacon Brussels were perfect. We had a pumpkin creme brûlée and the nutella sandwich as shared desserts. Great service, outrageous food, lovely little place - a real gem!
